problems with 50mm 1.7 M,

I see...i guess i totally forgot about using the Takumars in M dial mode...that is why i struggled with the use of PENTAX"M"lenses......AV is sort of convenient ,but i would try my next shots with screw mount using the M mode,and metering with AE-L...I wonder if AE-L metering with M42 lenses is also underexposure pron,as the AV mode???

Try it and see - I think you will find it a pleasant surprise to find the beautiful result.

Tokina 28mm 1:2.8

K10D however does routinely underexpose using manual lenses.
