recently got a Sigma mini wide 28/2.8 macro lens , A version.

is it worth to keep? or just sell it for $30~40?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

I like mine. It is capable of making great pictures, although sometimes needs a bit of a boost in contrast and saturation. Why not try it for a while, see what pictures you get? I find my initial impressions of a lens are often not as good as my later results. The value is unlikely to go down from $30-40 in the near future.

I still have the 24mm f/2.8 Macro version which I will sell. It sure isn't bad but the Pentax-M 28mm f/3.5 is better.

What I like about the Sigma is its sharpness from f/2.8 in the center - but the center only. The corners never get as good as with the Pentax and as said it heavily lacks contrast (although this can be fixed in PP).

Also it is well made and the close focus of 18cm is really useful.

35mm is not 28mm but similar and also f/2 is obviously faster than f/2.8 but the only lens with a better magnification is your 18-55 and the Sigma easily beats it in terms of sharpness, distortion and of course, speed.

So I'd keep it if you want close focus and high center sharpness.
