Ah, the K1000 - my first SLR, purchased with the SMC PENTAX-A 1:2 50mm kit lens.
I have the SMC PENTAX-M 1:2.8 28mm & the SMC PENTAX-M ZOOM 1:3.5 28mm~1:4.5 50mm, both of which I picked up on eBay for about $50 - 75 each. Neither is outstanding, but both are quality lenses that produce good images.
I know I'm getting old, when I read this type of thread.
Back in the days of film, 28mm was pretty wide - it really provided so much more opportunity and flexibility than a normal lens (50mm).
I also inherited a camera recently - a Nikon F3. I promise not to venture to often to the dark side. Though I do have thoughts of trying to find an LX on eBay and put them to a head to head test
