I am seriously jealous...you have TWO CJZ Pancolar 80/1.8. I became interested in that lens just before the price went sky high and they all magically disappeared from the market. My Jupiter-9 was purchased when I finally figured out that I would not be able to find a good Pancolar that I could afford. I was lucky though. I bought my J-9 before the prices went up on those as well!

Steve, I understand you completely. I have been looking for VERY LONG for my first Pancolar, and when I finally found one it seems to attract rare lenses

I definitely think the Pancolar is worth at least half the price of a FA 77 Limited. If you want it - buy it! You will never regret the quality of a perfect lens. Even if the diaphragm is sticky (they will all get sticky - no exception) - buy it! It will never be made again. It's one of the easiest lenses to work on: only a flat screwdriver is needed to remove three screws from the mount side, then you can easily unscrew the front and back optical block from the focusing and diaphragm mechanism. Only a few minutes and you're ready to clean the diaphragm blades with Naphta. No further disassembly required.

This is me working on someone else's Pancolar (he bought it for 50 euros, the lucky guy! )

Finally, an indoor portrait with the Pancolar, wide open at f/1.8 with the subject in front of a very sunny window. Can it be more difficult for a lens than this?

Yep...that is why I quit looking. In Spring 2007, they were about $100 USD. By that fall they were over $250. Good luck now even finding one for sale.

Given that I only paid $525 for my FA 77/1.8 Limited new...it may be a long time indeed before I find a Pancolar for half that price!

Then I think you have no other option than to frequently search for mislabeled and/or undescribed lenses in bigger lots. I've been very successful this way.

By the way, the Komura gets considerably better when stopped down a bit:
