sigma 150-500mm hsm lens pentax fit

Hi I've just discovered this excellent site!
Anyway I have an issue with my sigma 150-500mm lens.
About 3 weeks ago the af stopped working...i had had it around 9 months previously and everything was fine, then suddenly boom...nothing.
So i sent it to sigma uk who then sent me an email saying that they would be replacing the hypersonic motor on the lens and it would be back in a week or so...sure enough after a week it arrived complete with a delivery note which said the lens was tested with their own pentax k2000 and found to be in perfect working order...and also a note saying no repair was needed...so i tried it on my gx20...and nothingSo i called sigma who said ''well it works on our camera so it must be a fault with yours''I told them my other lenses worked fine and i only had a problem with this lens...they then suggested i download new firmware for my samsung which i did....still nothing(unsuprisingly)now they say i have to send them my camera and the lens together which means another 2 or 3 weeks without photography
does any one have any similar experiences...or even suggestions????
please help!!!

No experiences, but a suggestion - carefully clean every contact on the lens, and the contacts in the mouth of the camera mount. That usually gets my hyper finicky DA* 50-135 going again. The contacts must be ever so slightly misaligned or not quite far enough out, and require everything to be squeaky clean.

Are any of your other lenses HSM/SDM?

Welcome here.
Do you have other HSM/SDM lenses that work with your GX-20? You mentioned all other lenses work, but didn't mention if any other lenses were HSM/SDM.
If so, and they work, then it is a little strange and probably needs a repair guy to have a look at the combo.
If not, then it really may be the camera's contacts/electrical circuitry that need cleaning/servicing.
Let us know how you go.

Did your Sigma 150-500mm attach and lock into place like other lenses? Mine attaches but doesn't go far enough to latch securely. I'm about to return it, but thought I'd try to ask for help before I do.

Mine attaches to the K10D and K7 bodies OK, no different from any other lens.

Thank you. Then the lens must be defective? I've tried again, with the same results... turns part way, but doesn't lock into place.

Two questions about my Sigma 150-500 Pentax mount. I bought it brand new less than a month ago. Am having problems with it not focusing well. It focuses in and out hunting for the proper focus then stops out of focus. Any one else having this problem? I am using it on the K10D. Also, what should I use to clean the contacts?

I don't have that problem, either with the K10D or the K7.

Use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts.

I bought an old sigma 150 - 500mm and found that it was loose on my camera after locking it in position - I've had to add thin strips of paper between the camera and lens to make sure that it is a tight fit.

There is no obvious wear on the lens mount so I assume that the problem is poor quality standards in the manufacturing tolerances of the bayonet mount on the lens.
