Vivitar Series 1 90-180MM zoom

Do any of you have experience with this lens? I'd heard that the tab on the back needs to be shortened to work properly with a Pentax 10D.

I have this lens, and you are correct. I cut back the flange to match a recent KA-mount lens in order for the lens to mount properly. You can easily remove the flange piece from the lens so there is no chance for chips to fall inside as you modify it.

Yep, hast be cut. Yes it can be removed to do this. Some leave it on and mask off the glass (not recommended). GREAT lens BTW... you'll love it.

Thanks for the help, guys. I've owned the lens for several years now, but have only recently considered trying it on my new 10D.
