I need help making a final decision.

I am thinking about purchase a D FA 100mm Macro. I think! But I'm wondering if I am making the right choice. Should I go for the 50mm? I am concerned with the flexibility with the 50mm given the close distance to the subject. But, like my images sickeningly sharp especially with macro shooting. Are there any issues with the 100mm and image quality??

I have an FA 100 macro, but from what I gather the function is pretty similar.

I constantly have to remind myself not to get too close to the subject, particularly if its moving. Allow the lens magnification to do its job. This does help if you're trying to take pictures of insects or anything else which might be scared off.

The DOF seems pretty shallow, though, and that might be a good reason to go with the 50mm lens. I think you could probably stop it down a bit more and get a broader DOF with that rather than the 100mm.
