HELP!-using slr lenses with my pentax K20D

I just bought my first digital SLR. I have a few old lenses from my pentax K1000. One is an albinar ADG 28mm 1:2.8 macros focus. I can't figure out how the heck to make it work with my camera. I tried all the settings according to the manual, but it still isn't working, won't even let me take the picture.

Go the Beginner's forum and find the "sticky" thread (meaning it will be toward the top of the list) on using manual lenses.

I don't know why pentax couldn't put this information in the manual, it would make life much easyer for all their customers.
