Packing for the weekend

So, we're going to see some family, and who knows what else this weekend.

The only thing I know for sure I will be shooting is candids inside. We may do a little sight seeing or hiking.

Of the 5 lenses I have, I can fit about 3 easily.

My plan is to take the 50mm f2, the kit lens, and the Vivitar 70-150mm (which is slightly smaller than the 75-205mm.

Taking the 50mm because it's the fastest lens I have and a decent length for candids inside. The kit because sometimes others might be using the camera, and it can be all auto, plus it's the widest I have. And the short tele because it's easier to pack than the longer.

So, any opinions about the tele choice, or the choice to leave the 28mm f2.8 at home?

I think the 28mm would be alright for candids inside as well. But if you cant squeeze it in, then you would be right with the ones you have listed.

The only other thing, are you sure that 150mm would get you close enough for what ever you may be shooting with it?

Flash. Nothing beats a good bounce/swivel flash. Doesn't have to be "P-TTL".

do you have kids?

If so thei become your camera bag holders
Sounds good what you want to take. have a good trip.
In the future If you can afford one, the DA 50-200mm Is a great travel lens. I use it for such and as a back up to my 70-200 F2.8 should it ever go down. It is a very compact and good (optical) lens

For candids, manual focus may not be the way to go, especially if you don't have a focusing screen with aids.

Before I got any fast AF lenses, I used the kit lens with a bounce flash indoors and was extremely happy.
