I've been searching garage sales for Pentax lenses and I finally bought my first one. A pentax ZX-10 body and SMC f 35-80 (1:4-5.6), plus a nylon carrying case with some accessories. It has a 49 mm UV(0) filter which doesn't rotate.

They were asking $35 and I offered $20, but accepted a counter offer of $25.

I'll probably keep the body and take some film pics someday.

So far the lens works fine. It hunts around for the right focus a lot.

I have a good copy of that lens, and I find it very usable. It is a nice complement to the DA 18-55 lens as you are able to get in a lot closer, good for candids. Small and light, able to get about 1:4 for "macro" too. Not great for shooting indoors unless you use a flash, but for almost free hard to complain.

Shooting film every now and then is pretty fun. I think about the shots more before hand, and not at all after.
