Pentax 16-45F4 vs Tamron/Sigma 18-50F2.8

I'd really like to get something to replace the kit lens, I mainly take landscape shots, but at times I do like some fast speed for indoors and nice bokeh. So any recommendations? The pentax from what I see has great contrast (Which is important to me in landscapes) and I like that extra 2mm at the wide end. How are the Tamrons and Sigmas, I have a Tamron 28-75 for my Canon and it's an awesome lens, so much that I start to wonder if I shouldn't get the 12-24 Pentax (or Sigma 10-20), then the Tamron 28-75 for Pentax, and a 70-300 if I want tele.

Please give me your experiences and pics if you would.

Thanks!!

Why don't you consider the Sigma 17-70mm. It is quite sharp, f2.8 at the low end and more reach at the long end. It stays on my K10D almost 100% of the time.

I have the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for a few months. Really like it .

It is just about my everyday lens . Very sharp compare to the kit lens , IMHO .

Most of the pictures I've posted here are from the 16-45 f4. I replace it occasionally with a 50 f1.7A but the 16-45 has much better colours and contrast.

I have found it to be excellent in the f8 - f16 range, passable at f5.6 and keep telling myself at f4 its not very good. Or properly, f4 is outclassed by the superlative f8-16! Colour rendition and contrast is excellent. I stubbornly refuse tripods and have found indoors handheld its too slow to get its f8-16 sweet spot.

If you're mostly into landscapes it might be very good for you. It's also about 1/2 the price of the 12-24.

hmm, You should see resolution tests from photozone.de:

kit lens
sigma 18-50 F2.8

I'd say kit lens is excellent choice!
