A35-105 back from the lens-cleanse wizard

A while back I posted a question because I'd just bought a Pentax-A 35-105mm with a tiny amount of fungus on the inside surface of an element I couldn't get to (link). A member (seacapt -- thanks!) suggested I contact Eric Hendrickson about it.

Well, it's back and he did a fantastic job. I've had a couple of chances to take it out for a walk, and I am in love with this lens -- beautiful clarity and colour, nice and sharp over the whole image (at least on an APS-C sensor).

A few examples (the EXIF should be intact -- obviously it doesn't include the focal length, but aperture, shutter, etc, is there): these down-sampled versions don't show just how sharp the lens is, the leaf veins and engraving on the headstone are crystal clear in the originals.

Glad to hear that you got that resolved. It looks like the lens is doing great!

Now if only we could pick up something in the local Pharmacy that would take care of the fungus instead of shipping the lens off...

If any of the older lenses deserve such loving care the A35-105 is surely one of them and your pictures prove why. I love my primes but my copy is always with me ready and rarin' to go.

Thanks -- if Eric hadn't done such a great job, next time maybe I'd try some athlete's foot cream

Thanks -- yes, this one hasn't left my K10D for more than a few minutes since it came home.
