put the lens in the fridge for 30 minutes, then take it out and using rubber gloves try to unscrew the hood.

Hope it helps.

Not at all. 30 minutes is not that long anyway.

Show us some pictures made with this lens. I used to have it and it is a great lens.

Btw, i'd recommend leaving the hood on. It increases the image quality greatly.
Unless you want to store the lens in its original case, it is very unhandy to mount and unmount that hood.

If the hood has been screwed on too tight you may uncsrew the plastic decorative ring on front element showing the lens name, nr and specifications. Under it there is another, metallic, ring securing the front element.
The hood itself can detach from the double sided screw ring aswell.

Wont the lens condensate heavily when removing from fridge?

The lens has fair resolution. Jupiter and moons with Jupiter-37A and k200d somewhere around f/5.6..f/4:

You might get the best deals on M42 lenses at your local camera shops and markets as opposed to Ebay which will have folk from all parts of the world chasing the same item. A Turkish chap on another forum gets some abso;ute steals at his local bazaar.
