Sigma's OS (Optical Stabilizer) + teleconverter = good?

So with Sigma's new lenses like the 70-300mm F4-5.6 DG OS, which have their own stabilization system independent of (but compatible with) the Pentax in-body shake reduction, it would seem to me that the Sigma OS would be ideally suited for use with an AF zoom lens + teleconverter, since without in-lens stabilization the in-camera stabilization has no way of knowing what the focal length actually is, since the teleconverter doesn't alter that lens-body communication, correct? Then you could just turn off the Pentax shake reduction and rely on the lens.
