So my lens hunt has started...

After receiving the K7 with kit lens this tuesday, I just made my first additional lens purchase: The Pentax DA 70 Ltd.

This is my purchase plan for Pentax equipment:

Pentax DA 21 Ltd.
Pentax FA 35 f/2
Pentax DA 70 Ltd.
Pentax F(A) 135 f/2.8

Pentax 540 flash

If anybody in Europe knows of places to get any of these lenses at a good price, please let me know.

Also: any big differences between the F 135 f/2.8 and the FA 135 f/2.8 I should know of?

Can't wait to receive the 70 Ltd. Hate waiting

A fine list you have planned.

There are quite a number of reputable on-line stores in the EU.
You could take the VAT% into account - 19% for DE, 19% for NL, 21% for BE and 15% in UK till December.
Also, check out the warranty. In NL for instance, it is 1 year, in BE it is 2 years.

Some examples: Foto Konijnenberg, Tekade, Digital street, AC-Foto, SRS Microsystems ...

None of hem have the lowest price for every item.

I don't have a personal experience with the 135 f2.8

PS this was assuming you want to buy new.

Good hunting.

Thank you very much for those suggestions.

I will buy lenses from new if no used ones in great condition shows up.

For flash I prefer new... but I can see that the Metz 58 is A LOT cheaper than the Pentax 540, so I might have to re-consider my Flash plan.

Looks like the FA35 and the F(A) 135 might be hard to find in Europe for a reasonable price

Good luck with your search. Pentax has raised their prices everywhere and it seems that in Europe perhaps even more than in for example the US. Basically there are NO places with good prices (= old stock) left, but some are less expensive than others. UK prices were fairly cheap (for other Europeans) last winter due to the pound's exchange rate but don't seem to be anymore. If I was buying new lenses today (which I'm mostly not due to the price hikes), I'd buy from German online stores with good reputation. In addition to the shops mentioned, take a look at Foto Palme and Foto-Erhardt which I have good experience with.

Oh, forgot to add that there are a few good German price search websites worth taking a look at:

Not a bad price for the FA35, I think.

Sofort lieferbar = available for immediate shipping.
Zu diesem Superpreis nur noch wenige am Lager! = Only a few left in stock (for this interesting price)

sure it is in German: it's a German shop. Shouldn't be to difficult for a Dane?
I don't realy speak German either but it's a simular language.

Yes, you could register as a Kunde - Customer: 'Ich bin ein neuer Kunde' = I am a new Customer. Or you could buy as a 'Gast' - Guest.

Difference is that no customer data is stored for you when you buy as a Guest and you don't get to track you order.

They do ship internationally:

Size: 60.2 KB

Vorkasse = Pay upfront. You pay with a bank transfer and when they receive your payment, they ship.

Information (bank account) should be available when you go through. I can't follow that far: I'm not buying (would be a great excuse on the other hand: Sorry, it was an accident, just wanted to help someone )

Thank you for your help.

Looks like the cheapest way to get Pentax stuff is to get it from Prodigial2000, even after additional taxes...

May well be, but how much do you value local warranty - that's the question.

Yes you are right.

On none-sdm lenses: not so much... but on more electronic heavy items (dslr, flash etc) I would prefer to have some warranty.

There is a F135 for sale from one of your fellow Danes, at what I think is a good price.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/photographers-marketplace/69619-sale-eu-s...5mm-2-8-a.html

No connection to him, just trying to help you both.

Thank you... I made a deal with him and will soon be the owner of both the F 135mm f/2.8 and the DA 70 Ltd. (bought elsewhere).

So now the hunt continues for the DA 21 Ltd. and the FA 35 f/2
(will probably have to wait a while - this is an expensive hobby )
