This will give me a theoretical (I didn't tested it yet ^^ ) magnification of 8.3:1
for 20$... (in combination with the 50-200 at 200mm)

For the price, it's worth trying.
8.3:1 is not much good for flower photography. A few grains of pollen will fill the screen.

How about 10:1? It just requires a 24mm lens, a reversing adaptor and a macro focusing teleconverter. Read this thread:

Ra Ra Raynox

My vote is for the Raynox 150... hands down the best money you could spend for use with you5 existing lenses...

There are so many wonderful examples of it on the DA50-200...

I guarantee a bundle of fun!

Great stuff. I did read that thread when it was current and I bought a reversing ring as a result. I have a 28mm lens and have tried it on 28, 50 and 100mm lenses. I don't have much use for extreme macro, and I don't have a proper stand, so results were uneven. For less extreme macro (up to 3:1) I find a reversed lens is a lot harder to manage than a Raynox diopter, and no advantage in quality.
