Nonsense. Your definition of "normal" is a bit biased. Just a couple weeks ago I shot a family dinner with the FA31. No flash. Stuck at f/1.8 the whole time, 1/30s, ISO1600. Many GREAT shots. F/2.8 would mean either ISO3200 (noise becomes a problem, colors noticeably washed) or 1/15s (movement becomes a problem).
lets see those many great shots.

Not online, sorry. But there's a bunch of others in my flickr set for the FA31, most wide open, high res, if you want to take a peek.
all i'm seeing are artistic shots that utilize the benefit of having narrow depth of field. And even then.. half of them are not taken with the FA31 and also i cant see any exif's...

i am also not seeing group party shots from a family dinner in crappy lighting, show show, i am curious!

There are some good ones here

Full-size sample photos from Pentax 31mm F/1.8

The above is that of the FA31/1.8, but you can choose any of the fast lenses and choose the aperture you want. There is plenty of good use for fast lenses at their widest.

what, are you too dumb to click on flicrk's "more properties" link and see the exif? did you fail math or did you go to some alternate universe school where 3 is the half of 14?

ha, you calling me dumb, classic

you stated that dynamic range rises with increased ISO!

and i'm still waiting for those "quality" family photos.

as for the "more properties" button, i finally found it, the small text right next to the copy right text thats indistinguishable from everything else on that horrible site.

Pentax needs to make a FF camera.

then you will get a million and one fast cheap normal lenses that goes as far as f1.2.

and the awesome 31mm will be an awesome wide street lens like it should be.

the FA31 is for niche photography.
These win for the 2 most ignorant statements I've read lately.

statements with no arguments are as usefull as a rock at the bottom of the ocean.

you can do better than that, or are you just a hot air balloon floating around mindlessly?

You couldn't strangle me in person, my old son.

And mine was a statement of opinion, if you require every statement to be an argument then I feel sorry for you. You'd best step away from the keyboard for a bit.

Do you seriously think i want to strangle people?

I just like to get smart with idiots who call other people idiots only offer no backup for their actions.

Like a 7 year old kid spitting on your car as you drive by from the school bus window.
