M42 Helios 44-2 question

My Grandfather told me it was because the lens was designed for Russian Weather....

That is why it overexposes when you stop it down... the never expected it to be used in the sun

In my experience, the 44M and 44-2 love the shade or overcast conditions.

I should use mine more often then, we don't see the sun that often here in Wales either.
