Great Lens Cap for 40mm Limited

I just purchased these off e-Bay. I am NOT the seller... just wanting to share a great find. Comes in a pack of 3 and fit my new 40mm very well. Super fast on and off. Looks great too. I love the feel of the original screw metal cap, but this is much more practical.

or search for: 3 Front Lens Cap 30mm Caps that Clip On

Also - Some first photos with my 40mm... shot in low light at dusk mostly 400 ISO and some 800 ISO.

Nice find. Please let us know how they work out.

Like your shot #3419 (blue valves); really shows off how nice the 3D rendering look and feel can be from this lens.

I think the top of a Fuji film can also works as a lens cap for the 40mm lens.

I have exactly this lens cap for my DA 40. It works just fine. Much faster operation than with the screw-in one.

Yes it does. They're a bit stiff and difficult to remove at first, but once you wear it in it works perfectly.

I wasn't sure if you were talking to erik or me, but here are images of the fuji cap. The first image is with a black one. I'm not sure how common these are so I also took one with the more typically mentioned white one.

Awesome, I like the look of the ebay cap, and the film caps look nice and interesting too. I will be going around looking for fuji film canisters (also want the bottom for a cheap pop-up flash diffuser) until I can get the DA 40mm at a good price.

Whats a good place to find film canisters? pawn shop?

Be nice to the people at the photo counter at Costco. Costco still sells Fujifilm 35mm film. The members bring them back to Costco for processing.

Awesome, thanks for the tip, I took my first trip to costco - free food samples!!

And I brought this back!

I can use the bottoms for a pop-up flash diffuser. If anyone needs any, just pay shipping. I have sansitized them all.

Now I just need to get a used DA40..

Why?

The Fujifilm lens caps can be for other lenses.

The trick is to find appropriate lens hoods.

One or more step-down adapter rings to 30.5mm are what you need.

See some of my lens hoods:

Soldbear, with the step-down rings, won't the photos vignette?
Won't it cause some sort of a tunnel vision effect?
