I'm not sure. By all accounts it doesn't appear be that common. I've never really looked into it myself but I think one or two people on this forum and over on the Pentax forums at dpreview.com use them.

I'm also not 100% certain what kind of functionality it gives you. I assume its stop-down metering only (as in the same way you'd use a fully manual K or M lens on a Pentax DSLR).

Yes it is just a mount converter with no automation pass through. It is rare and hard to find, eBay prices is about $200US for a real Pentax one. There are non-Pentax version of these going for about 80-100 new on eBay. It has not been officially discontinued but they are not making them unless there is a great demand to make a batch. Making one to order for this does not make sense unlike the super-teles

Do you presently have 645 lens that you want to use? If not buy 645 lens to use this way is not a wise use of you money for the new DA are better value optically.

I have an arsenal of F,FA and other 645 lenses. The only two that I use on my K digitals are the 120 Macro and FA300EDIF alone or with converters.

Also, I have no idea what the "crop factor" would be for comapring the field of view of a lens between 645 and APS-C formats, but I'm sure it's pretty big, meaning probably every lens you might own would function as a telephoto, and ones that were already telephoto would be *really* telephoto now. Actually, you don't need the crop factor to figure this out: any lens with a focal length greater than 35mm functions as a telephoto on APS-C, regardless of what format the lens was designed for.

Pentax | 645 Lens to Pentax 35mm K-Mount Body Adapter | 38455

FYI: 300mm 645 have the same view as any other 300mm on digital Pentax.

Of course. But it won't be the field of view it provided on 645, which was my point (not sure if this comment was in reference to my post or not).
