what about samsung lenses

recently i noticed the samsung D-XENOGON lenses are just the same as pentax lenses from the appearance. anyone knows the difference between them. some one told me they are made in the same factory in Vietnam. i want to buy a FA 35 f2.0 so if there is little difference ,the price of samsung lens will be more attractive.

I'm quite sure they are the identical lenses. Coatings might be the only question.

Not sure where you are located, but in the U.S. B&H is advertising the Samsung for $599. You can buy it on eBay (new) from Japan for $419. The lowest you can find the Pentax SMCP-FA on eBay (new) for is $513.59 from Hong Kong (both of those prices include free shipping). Looks like the Pentax comes with a petal hood, but I'm sure you can get one of those for less than the nearly $200 you will save.

i bought one from korea for US$280.

it seems exactly the same as the pentax version, comes with a plastic bayonet petal hood and a lens pouch in the box.

im from Shanghai China, the price of Pentax SMCP-FA 35 f2.0 here is around $400, cheaper than Hong Kong?
