Interesting to see the FA31 stomp on the Leica 35mm f/2 summicron ASPH, I wonder how well the earlier pre-ASPH version's bokeh would hold up. The FA31 easily matches, and in some situations beats the summicron (both ASPH & non-ASPH) in terms of resolution on full frame in my testing on the Leica M9, (with a Leica M to Pentax K adapter)

Hi
Don't know whether this thread has run its length , but here are a couple of lenses I have not seen mentioned before.

All pics are shot with the K-5 totally untouched, only converted from RAW to JPG.

This one is the SIGMA DC 18-50mm constant 1:2.8 EX and the other is...

There's no way this thread has run its length as long as John keeps buying new lenses . Are you allowed to park B-doubles in Swanston St these days?

I went through the whole thread around a year ago and have a subscription, But I can't remember seeing any shots from e.g. FA50 1.4, DA* 16-50, DA* 50-136. I've been "gunna do it" for ages, but keep making excuses for not travelling into the city. I prefer places where population density is measured in sq kms/person instead of the other way round.

Richard.

the 3 stooges revisited

Here's my little contribution to this thread. Got a half an hour break so I brought a bunch of lenses in. It was very busy at the corner (and wet!) so it's a rush job, but the lenses may be of interest (they are listed at the bottom, not to spoil any surprises )

Lenses: K15/3.5ASPH, Samyang 14/2.8, Leica 35/1.4, A*85/1.4, Vivitar Ser 1 105/2.5 macro, K135/2.5 all wide open (dashed lines separate the lenses).

I had to lug two bags full of lenses and my camera bag down from Russell St where I was lucky to find a spot to park! But in the end I only had time for 6 lenses. I think I must be trailing John in the LBA department - time to get a second mortgage!

PS Looking at the pics now, I am wondering whether the A*85/1.4 was really wide open...

Dan, try the surplus value method for the financing of lenses, saves debt and arguments with one's beloved.
Was going through the collection and I'm pretty sure this fella, Isco Gottingen 50mm f2.8 has not previously met the amigos. Not a recent buy but an occassionally forgotten lens due to other hussies tempting me.

What is "the surplus value method", John?

I've got to learn it and learn it soon!
