Da 14 & 21

I was wondering whether or not any forum members owning the above DA lenses know whether or not they have the capabiities of covering a 1.3 sensor without increased vignetting artifact. I think I already know the answer but would love to be told I'm wrong.

Thanks,

Stephen

There is a recent review on Da 21 ltd in photozone.de and popular photography. The vignetting is not a huge problem comparing to other competition brands.

Da 14 vignetts very little wide open. I am sure when it comes to landscape, you would use aperture above f5.6 anyway and most of wide open shots are after mood and subtle light where vignetting is of a lesser issue.

After all, the vignetting can be easily corrected in photoshop ...

Well a lens that vignetts saves me having to add it in photoshop

Thanks for the answers. I have read several reviews including Photozone. However, their review was based on a 1.5 sensor.

Does anyone know whether theses lenses wll work on 1.3 sensor?

I am assuming not, but perhaps there is someone out there who knows the math and can tell me coverage will not be a problem.

Thanks,

Stephen

Richard Day posted about this some time ago. He contributed to a discussion about FF sensors and found that some DA lenses will work.

Ham,

Obviously, today no one at Pentax is making a camera with this sensor. But, shortly, some of us think they will.... provided they ever make cameras again....period.

So, anticipation and preperation are the key words today. Speculation is rife.

hth,
Hi Jonas,

Thanks for the reminder. I remember reading that at one time and forgot the source. Hmmm....I noticed that he mentioned the 645D as a solution () and it is interesting to note in hindsight just how fickle the winds of relevance are.

Thanks again.
Stephen
