advise needed:wide-angle lens

Hey guys, I need some opinions.

I'm buying a wide-angle lens, i have a 18-55 kitlens, but don't like it very much.
So I found a Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 MACRO DC, used for € 200
also found a Sigma 17-35 f2.8-4 EX Aspherical, owner sais brand new, for € 200
and today a Pentax smc DA 17-70mm f/4.0 AL (IF) also brand new with guarantee for € 299.

<edit> Just came across another two
Pentax DA 16-45mm F 4.0, asking price €275
Sigma wide-angle zoom,15-30 EX DG f3,5-4,5, no indicated price, one bid at the moment, €150

or 2 absolute cheap buys
Cosina 19-35mm f 3,5-4,5 I bid €48
Tokina 19-35mm F3.5-4.5 highest bid €60

I also bought a Z20 35mm film body with 28-80 standard lens in addition to my K10D.

my question is, what would be your choice?
About half my photo's I shoot in low-light, and my FA 50mm f1.8 is my most used, but I definitely need a more wide angle lens, but which one...

how much should a pentax 10-17 fisheye used cost...

That is alot of options! Of all those listed, the sigma 17-70 at $200 seems to be the most reasonable, and that lens is very well regarded. Personally I would be interested in the 15-30 as well, that would give a nice wide angle (I believe this lens is also FF coverage) - it may be somewhat a limited range if you are looking for something as a walk-around lens. I also think it will likely go up a fair amount if that is the price in an auction. It would make a good paid to the more standard zoom you also acquired.

As far as the fisheye, used in the US it runs between $350-400 - new it is getting up past $500 (that wasn't always the case!).

Like many others, I have the Sigma 17-70 and find the range to be very useful. I would suggest either this or the Pentax 17-70 from your list.

The Tokina 19-35 is a nice lens (Reviews here) that provides somewhat better performance than the 18-55 kit. I bought one for my daughter a few years back.

The negatives?
  • More bulky than the 18-55
  • Large filter size
  • Expensive hood (pretty much required, though usually not included)
  • No focus clutch

The positives?
  • Great build at this price point
  • Very nice manual focus when AF is disengaged or when used on a manual body.
  • Better than average optical performance at this price point
  • Compatible with 35mm format
  • Internal focus design

Unfortunately, this lens has sort of a cult reputation and is often overpriced used. If you bid, remember that the list price new was only about $180 USD. My daughter's was only $118 new (old stock close-out) on eBay.

The DA 16-45 is very sharp and versetile, also producing nice close-ups.
309 euros at foto booms in Amsterdam (new).
It only does not support FF.
On the other hand a 28mm M or K will not cost you a arm and a leg....
