How to remove 2x teleconverter on K-1000

Hi. Brand new to the forum... hoping I can get some help.

I cannot figure out how to remove the 2x teleconverter (Asanuma Auto Tele Converter 2X for Pentax K) from my standard 50mm lens.

Is there a release somewhere that I am not seeing?

Thanks!

Yes. There should be a knob or lever on the side of the teleconverter that you push. It should be roughly like pushing the lens release on the body.

Thanks. I only see a thumb screw on the side of the converter. Tried unscrewing it, pressing it.... nothing gives.

Thats it.

Push the thumb screw in the direction of the camera end of the TC while turning the lens.

Aha!! Got it. Thanks.

It's been too many years since I have touched the camera.
