Pentax FA 80-320 4.5/5.6 (6 IMGS)

I got this a few days back and took it for a short spin at the zoo. Paid $75 for this lens.

Wow - very sharp at this size!
Awesome results for this maligned lens.
A little harsh and unattractive bokeh, with not overly impressive contrast but otherwise excellent results.
Thanks for sharing these.

Thanks for the compliments. The bokeh at times is harsh, like in the first image, but very good with most others. The lens is a definite sleeper. I got it for a good price from a member here, but these go for $120-150. Great value for the money.

Peter, I just wanted to see what a cheap lens costing 10 times less will do. Mostly for testing purposes (reads LBA here). Also, wanted to see whether it can be a replacement when I don't want to carry the sigma.

It's a very under rated lens and is excellent value in terms of reach for $$$

The TS's pictures are making me regret that I sold this lens! Very sharp images, and a very useful focal range as well. Not to mention that the lens is relatively lightweight and serves well as a walkaround

This is a pretty good lens actually. These are some of the shots I manage to get with this lens.

Only problems I find is that the lens is slow and tends to hunt a lot. I have since upgraded to the Tamron 70-200 but still keep the FA80-320.
