Sigma 18-125

There have been a few questions lately about what is a good travel lens. I post these to assist anyone who is grappling with this question.
This is taken with the 18-125 @18mm/ .3sec/ f4.5/ iso 800....and a tripod.

It always amazes me how often Edmonton seems to come up on this forum. I like the first one. A nice picture of a modern downtown, with the old warehouse district in the foreground. I am there frequently in the summer months for the outdoor farmers market.

Thanks Chris,
They were both from our hotel window last year.
I was trying to show that the 18-125 does not do a bad job, even in extreme situations, provided you make allowances for it. In this case I think it performs pretty well, particularly when you consider the 24mm EX DG is many times the price.
Nice place Edmonton, bloody cold though!
Cheers

It can be cold. After looking at teh EXIF, you did get pretty crappy weather for March. You need to come again a little bit later in the Year. We have some fine weather in June and July. It was 30 celcius last weekend. Summer in Edmonton is nice. Not too hat, lots of sun, not much rain. The Street Performers Festival, Champ Car, Folk Music Festival, Fringe Theatre Festival... We really do have more than snow and bars!

The street Performers in Edmonton were nice when I lived there for that year I lived there.

If I had to live in Alberta it would be my second choice to move to. Waterton would be my first choice.... what can I say, I love the mountains, rivers and lakes
