18-55mm II is nice but ...

The 18-55mm II is a nice little lens, but for me the 16-45mm is the ticket (although bigger and heavier).

My K-x carry kit consist of a Domke F-5XB bag in olive, a 16-45mm, a 55-300, and a supply of batteries :- )

HogRider--

I just received my 18-55 WR purchased on Fleabay from Beach Camera this afternoon. Nice companion to my K200D. They honored the $129 deal. I kicked in $12 more to get it here before Thanksgiving photo ops. It feels substantial for a kit lens and comes with a petal-type hood. Not enough opportunity yet to evaluate performance in comparison to my Pentax 18-250. Considered the 16-45 and the $$$ DA*--this seemed like the price-performer that would let me afford some other lenses too. (Fisheye 10-17mm, and fast 50 or maybe 43 Limited next. Then on to some serious tele-zooms.)

Sorry that your order didn't come through.

18-55 would be a proper fit for 55-300 - a big double-kit. for 16-45 it must be something like 50-135...

I find it better to have some lens overlap, however the 16-45 and 55-300 is definitely a great 2 lens kit. Although more expensive, a 17-70/55-300 would probably more useful all around (though the sigma 17-70 would still keep that a reasonable price).
