The 77ltd enters the holiday season

Nothing less magical than a trip out to pick up recessed lightbulbs and cleaning supplies...

Unless it happens to be the brink of another holiday season, and the mall is festive, and the 77ltd you
brought along as a last minute afterthought briefly helps remind you what the season looks like through
a 2-year old's eyes.

f/2.0 to 2.8. ISO 320 to 500

Thx folks! Yes, I wonder if I should put together a quick retrospective in the 'post your photos' section, going back to birth... lens-by-lens!

But the 77ltd is my fave overall, and it's fun to shoot the little guy (and everyone) with it.

I think that little guy is the most famous person in all over the digital photography world

Nice images BTW, congrats.

Those are nice photos with a good looking model
Wonderful color and sharpness too.

Thanks for showing this lens' capability.
I just got one myself and still trying to get used to it.

What camera do you use? Do you have to adjust this lens for FF / BF? If yes how much do you have to adjust it?
I need to adjust mine because it has some BF on my K20D.

Thanks for sharing,

Great shots! I had not seen many of the boy lately and it is good to see he has returned to the "stage". I particularly like the three with the Pepsi cup. It looks like he was not pleased with the contents!

Thanks! I use a K20D, and I have a +5 AF adjustment with this lens. Strangely enough, it never seemed like it required any AF adjustment on the K100DS and K-M, but on my K20D, I find that +5 nails it at the higher apertures (f/1.8 --> f/2.8 or so.)

Thanks Steve. Yes, he always takes my diet cokes/pepsi, takes out the straw and tries to drink through the little hole. In that shot he actually got a bunch and was overwhelmed by the carbonation.

I have a lot of shots of him lately, but mostly have been sharing them with family only. 77ltd shots should be shared with Pentaxians, however.

What a wonderful series

Jay, your son really is growing before our eyes. The Human Tornado is 7 now, and the Menace will be 5 on Christmas Day... I can not wrap my mind around how fast that has happened. I am sure you know the feeling.

These are such great photos. Your skills with the camera have as much to do with it as the lens, I know for a fact... but I do agree with you the FA 77 really does have a magically quality. I only got to borrow one for an hour on the SF meet up, but I loved it.
I know I go on and on about these cheap MF lenses, but I slapped that thing on the camera and got some of my favorite shots of that day. Even a great shot of the elusive 'Damn Brit' and some fine stranger candids.

If Santa were to bring me one lens... it would be the FA77. I would even leave the FA 50 1.4 next to the cookies and milk, if that would help!

Great series my friend. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Yes I do, now. Makes me very aware of how precious my time is with
my family - it's so easy to miss important stuff. The Menace is 5 on Christmas!,
does she start Kindergarten next year then? That's a great age range, my
newbie is due Jan 15th or so, and that will be about 28 months difference.

You too, but I'm just trying to match those Helios (and now Cosina) portraits and
candids of your girls you produce. Seriously, that's just magical stuff.
