60-250/4 vs. a 70-200/2.8 for portraits/sports

For those of you who've had both and use it for portraits/sports, do you miss the 2.8 wide open DOF isolation (no cheating by racking it all the way to 250mm since typical head/shoulder portrait distances are 60-100mm)? There have been a few threads comparing the 60-250 w/ the Sigma 100-300, but nothing I could find addressing this specific question.

I see the 60-250/4 as Pentax's version of Canon's 70-200/4 but have never heard much about Canon users using it for portraits like they do w/ the 2.8....just that their version is great wide open and makes a great travel lens. Weight wise, the 60-250 is roughly the same as Tamron's 70-200/2.8 and slightly smaller, but the Sigma is 30% heavier.

Original Poster purchase window was closing to get this at $1125 at newegg, so I bought it. Will report back after my first studio session...just wish it had HSM instead of the flaky SDM motor :-P
