the kit lens can be had cheaply off ebay from people who had bought it with the camera but later decided to 'upgrade' to another lens.

the Vivitar 28mm f2.8 is not that wide, agreed, but a very fine lens of effective 42mm which is nice for street photography, and you should be able, with luck, to get it for very little money.

I recommend using old manual primes, gives me much joy, however old lenses wider than 28mm are mostly either not so good or not cheap, but 17mm Vivitar / Tokina ( same lens ) or Tamron are good performers and can be found for less than 100 USD

I believe that you can email both keh and usedcameras that you are looking for something specific and when it comes in they will email you a notice. It is at least worth a short.
