Lens buying affliction... make it stop!

I only recently stepped into Pentax-land with a Kx and I caught it. The kit lens is just fine, but the same day the camera showed up I bought a DA 55-300mm. Great quality pics (if a bit slow and noisy).

So then I dipped my toe into the manual lens pool with a A-50mm 1.7. Very happy with that one!!

Not sure why, but I then bought a Vivitar 35mm f2.8 and a Kiron 80-200 f4.5 macro in a package, then a good deal popped up here for an FA-50 1.4. Then a Tamron 28-75 f2.8. Today a DA 40 Ltd. None of these 5 are even here yet!

Sick, I tell you. Too much overlap and I'll need to sell some. And yet I still keep looking at the FA/DA 35mm and 70mm ltd lens pics. I guess I'll have to seek treatment since my camera funds are gone!

The overlap is only from the 35mm and 50mm... 35mm FOV is nice though. keep the others

You first have to worry when you buy your sixth 50mm! That's the point of no return, the true definition of LBA!

you might also consider the DA15 limited or DA12-24 zoom for your UWL. a DA70, a 100/2.8 macro, a 135/2.8. a DA200, and a DA300.
if it helps, you can check on my sig on what lenses you would need ! and there still other coming in, lol !

It's relentless, and just when you think you have enough, there's an awesome image someone captured using a lens you don't have that makes you think twice...

Are we talking actually having 6 in your possession, or six over ones lifetime? If we are on the lifetime standard I'm totally screwed.

I have about 20 lenses. All 50mm 1:2. Does that count?

OK just kidding. I have about 20. Some good, some not so good. I just can't seem to part with any. Some I've never used. And now I want Marc's new lenses. I need to find a rich relative.

The funny thing about this thread is that you have received suggestions for more lenses to get!
I don't think anyone on this forum knows the solution to this problem; I don't claim to either. I guess running out of money (or credit limit?!) helps though...

I slowed my LBA down considerably by buying a DA*50-135 that I found by luck in stock at a local camera shop. The lens is fine, but worrying about impending failure has made me think twice about purchasing another . . . . OH LOOK! THERE GOES AN FA 77 1.8!!!!!!!!!!!

Well....they do come in "sets"

It's silly not to have all three FA Ltds...oh ya...6 when you count in silver
Then there are the DA*s....for when it is raining
I'm not into DAs...but there is the DA 12-24...oh...and the others
Of course, no kit is complete without a complete set of Ks...
Then the SMC Taks....the set
Then there are the preset taks
And the auto taks

Did I miss any?
