Super Tak f2 55mm

Just received my new lens in the mail; did one shot to ensure it was operational and clean. It sure is a nice lens, glad its part of my growing kit. I can't wait till my other lenses come in the mail. Does anyone focus these lenses using live view? Seems like a good idea for a tripod just a thought.

Regards,
Gary

I absolutely will use live view + zoom in, for critical focus. I don't need it if my subject is close and big in frame... but for subjects that are farther away it really helps. I have the K20 and the live view is nowhere near as good as the K7/kx

I'll even use live view on my Canon 40D to obtain focus for portraits with the 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.9 or 135mm f/3.5 to make sure I'm getting the eyes sharply in focus.

For landscapes at f/8 or above, I'll use Liveview too, but I won't rely on it quite so much as portraits.

That is exactly what I do... I call it "cat's eye focus". it is the best way to know you have nailed the eyes.

Laying on my belly shooting thru some tall grass with an old 60-300 mf lenses wide open... Live view was the only way to nail the eyes...
