Price for 40mm lmt. $340 good? (new)

I have been looking for this lens on ebay etc and most are more then new at adorama and B&H which has them for $340 new right now. Should I just grab one or is this a normal price for this lens?

Only 3% cashback on this lens. oh well.

I was looking around Adorama/B&H myself yesterday... 340$ seems to be a good price, also recent similar discussion on another thread.

Around $340 seems to be the going rate for this lens right now, and I would say that is a fair price for this lens. At the $200 or so it was going for about a year ago (when I got mine...), it was a steal.

A lot of us missed out on some great prices, not just this lens but many of them. Most seem to have gone up around 20%. It's still a good price.

Absolutely--if I knew then what I know now, I would have stocked up on many more lenses. During the heyday last year of the lower retail prices on Pentax lenses, Microsoft cash back on ebay (25%-30% off for quite some time), ebay coupons, paypal coupons, and very aggressive pricing from Prodigital 2000 on ebay, there were incredible bargains to be had up and down the Pentax lineup. But those days seem to be long gone. It was fun while it lasted though.

@frooggy: I'm the one that started the other thread and I got mine from B&H yesterday. The $339 price is after a $160 deduction, and I didn't even think of using bling. I haven't had a chance to use mine yet, only got a chance to take it out of the box and look at it. My wife knew I was going to order it, and she was there when I opened the box. She said..."you paid $339 for something that small?" I told her the lens was just like her..."petite and beautiful." She replied "that's sweet even though it is a load of BS."

Did you buy her an engagement ring? Wonder how that was in terms of price for the size?

Yep, I did. I bought her one in 1967 while I was still in college, and it was fairly small, but it cost a ton of $$$ for a college student.

You get dude points for trying...but apparently after at least 42 yrs of your company, she is on to your secrets. I think they all tell each other these things in the Ladies Room and that is how they all seem to know at the same time. Still, it's the trying to get by with things that makes it fun!
