I am buying a DSLR camera to complement my Canon G-9
I read tons of reviews and decided to get Pentax K-x. But instead of getting kit lens 18-55/3.5-5.6 I'll take only K-x body and a Tamron lens:
TAMRON 17-50mm XR f/2.8 Di II LENS PENTAX
Since I have no previous experience with anything Pentax, I need your help.
Q1: is that lens compatible with the body?
Q2: is that lens any good?
Thx.
Good choice for Pentax K-x, I'm also considering one as upgrade for my old *istDS. But anyway, your first question. Yes, it is made for Pentax so it must be compatible
But I understand why you asked, because in other brand, some lenses can't be used by some bodies. Pentax is well known for its long list of compatible lenses so no worries
K-x is beginner grade but it will fit all lenses that fit K-7, as far as I know.
Is it any good? No idea because I don't have one, but it has fixed 2.8 aperture so it shouldn't be bad IMHO
