Are buyers really this dumb? Ebay auction with terrible title. DA70mm.

But read the deal in the body of the listing:

.

The real value is at places like this:

Yeah and what the heck is portraiturescape? I've read thousands of online and published pages about photography over the years and never come across that one.

What a dumb write up. Who the h*ll is going to spend $700 on a prime lens for snap shots. The kit lens was built for that.

But they aren't Peter, they'll only have to pay $699.95. A whopping $0.05 savings

They have also been known to lie!

I have been jonesing for a 60s era Yashica rangefinder and have exchanged messages from one seller that claimed the item was his personal camera and was fully functional the last time he used it. I asked him to confirm focus, aperture, shutter, and film transport functionality and he replied that he had no battery and therefore could not check. His camera is fully mechanical except for the meter.

No bids for you!

Steve, I would have called him on that one. A nice terse email about how "his" camera works and that if he'd every used it, he'd know how to test the mechanics.

hahaha i love the fact that the seller couldnt be bothered putting a picture of the lens up, plus how he has no feedback or other items.
Makes you wonder why they bother

One hundred words of product description, five hundred of why you should totally buy from him...

God, I hate Salesmen (not the capital "S".)

It really shows you how Ebay sellers can try to suck you in though.
This is a USA only auction at full MSRP and you can get the lens with complete confidence at B&H for $150.00 less.

Newcomers to Pentax need to be careful and know prices well before buying on Ebay.

I fired back a response to that affect. I am also always amazed at how many power sellers that regularly feature cameras NEVER have a battery available to test what they sell. I would be rich if I had a penny for every time I have read the words "as is" or "I am not a camera expert" on the sale conditions. I guess professed ignorance is the best insurance!

there are lot of such exorbitantly priced items on ebay.
is there any way to flag them, so that other members can know its a ripoff ?

or atleast ebay can show recently sold prices for the same item on the same page, that would be of great help.
