Experience with 77mm screw petal hoods on Sigma 28-70mm EX Aspherical?

Is anyone using one of those 77mm screw on petal hoods that you find on ebay on a Sigma 28-70mm EX Aspherical or similar thread diameter 28mm(-Xmm) lens? Lost my original one and would like to know if such a replacement would cause vignetting.

why not the simple metal round screw-in ?
