Pleasantly Surprised Kenko 2X dg PZ-AF

Just got in this TC, which I had bought with a 95% chance of just trying and reselling it. Well it has moved to 50/50. I tried it on a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5, Sigma 28-70 2.8 and Sigma 70-200 HSM DG II. I will post some pictures but here is what I found

28-80 - 2.8 - Focused good in my car on a very overcast day, seemed pretty sharp (VERY acceptable IQ loss), hard to tell contrast loss with the heavy cloud cover. AF was 85% of normal. Again very cloudy day.

17-70 - AF 85% of normal at all focal lengths. Again very acceptable loss, Turns it to just about a 1:1. Focused in the car a min focus no problem.

Sigma 70-200 HSM - Woohoo it moved the HSM motor. Hunted alot - Curious to see if it will focus better in better light. at least it sent a signal to the lens. Pretty sharp at 600mm considering I was hand holding.

Well post pics soon

Here are some samples. I took these all in about 20 minutes I had to play at lunch with the camera. All were taken from inside the car, as it was COLD, wet and cloudy.

Sigma 17-70 - Just trying macro out - this is a radio button in my car. Dark enough I had to use flash, even though I just got periphal flash due to working distance. Autofocused on this no problem.

Sigma 28-70 Not too bad

70-200 HSM - This is one of the times it focused no problem. I think in better light it will not have a problem. PS this was handheld at 600mm equiv, and I normally have very shakey hands.

Recently I got a Rokunar MC 2X Pz/AF from ebay (cheap). It looks like a Kenko. I wonder if it the same. I don't have any fast telephoto lens suitable for a TC. I have a Tokina 70-300, that hunts with the TC, in overcast light, when I tested it. I bought it thinking I would rip it apart and make an extension tube ( with A contacts ) if I didn't like the IQ. Your pics look better, though. I will have to give this Rokunar another shot before I remove the glass.
