!. Bokina
2. Tamron 80-200LD
3. Vivitar S1 105/2.5
4. Ricoh P 50/1.4
5. Industar-61 L/Z

Probably 50-135 somewhere further down. I'm pretty broke right now but in the further, I'd gladly take those SDM failed and out of warranty 50-135mm lenses off one of you guys for a lower price. I use strictly manual focus anyways.

About $70 cheaper than the 50-135!

Regarding this thread - I assume these are really good deals that were passed up? Because with the exception of a couple lenses, all of these I've seen in this thread are available to buy now through ebay or various places, if you're willing to pay market value.

But passing up a really great deal? It's been a while for me... I'm sure there are some, but they're not coming to mind right now. Usually I just miss a deal because someone snatches it up first, but whenever I have the opportunity to grab a good lens at a great price, I take it, because I can always resell for just under market value or right at market value and get my money+ back if I'm not going to be shooting it enough to keep it.

Wait, I remember one - Back in Jan '08 (I think) I didn't buy a Vivitar Series-1 105 2.5 macro for $175. It was mint, but I was cowardly about the whole thing and didn't pull the trigger.

Since then I've manned-up, but the whole LBA thing doesn't work if you're not also willing to sell really good glass that you're not using to fund new purchases. Well, unless you're really budget-free , then you never have to sell anything, but if you're not, sacrifice is part of the game.

.
yes, those were great deals. and sometimes those lenses would sat there for a long time asking you to buy them til someone else would grab them eventually and you'd say, DARN IT !

One obvious one comes to mind: an Ebay auction for a on film camera (don't remember which, but it hardly matters) that came with an M20/4, A50/2.8 Macro, and M150/3.5 (or it might have been the M120/2.8 - I can't recall). The auction went for just a couple of hundred, and any *one* of those lenses goes for that or more normally. I could have kept any one, perhaps even two, of the lenses made a profit on the deal. Damn!

Since at this point the M120/2.8 is really the only lens I have my eye on, I'm also a bit miffed I didn't bite when someone on this forum was selling a *never used* copy for under $200 - his/her father or grandfather had worked for Pentax and had a collection of relatively rare lenses still NIB.
oh bummer !

These are different lenses for different applications, but good that you enjoy the FE.
Having the cash available doesn't mean it's there to be spent for me.
Last time the thought crossed my mind was the FA* 80-200. But I'm happy with my Tamron 70-200, once it gets back from repair...

When I came back to photography just over a year ago and looked into what was what, I had the DA 12-24 on my list. I just missed one second hand on another forum about four times but It suddenly struck me looking through my pictures, the widest setting I had used was was 18mm.

DA* 16-50/2.8. I even have a $100 rebate with the K-7, and I love the IQ. But, the QC problems just wouldn't let me buy it. I will buy it if Pentax rleases a firmware for SDM lenses to use screwdrive.

FA 28 mm for a song. I don't know why I didn't get it. It was like new.

Sigma 400 mm AF. I could have sold it for double the asking price, but was too slow to reply to an email and lost the deal.

DA 21 mm. Honest price, no steal. I decided I don't really need it and can hardly justify spending money for it. But I'm sure I'd love it.

i haven't let go any lense so far that i thought was price was right. (after i bought digital slr from pentax).

anyway before i bought digital pentax i noticed once da 40mm for around 240$ and i did think of any reason to buy other than price was right. (i did not have digital slr that time). If it shows up again for similar price, will be instant buy.

but i do not think now i will buy another lense for at least 3 years.
(I have my eyes on voigtlander f1.1 though, so that is only lense i might buy in coming years).

I think there are many of us who put off some lens purchases and the price increases of the past few months have almost made sure that we may not be owning them for a while longer if at all.

1. DA40, for $180 (plentiful last year at prodigital)
2. DA* 16-50 for $425 Buy It Now
3. Pentax M 200/2.5 for $350
4. FA limiteds with live.com 35% off offer

But, the hard ones really are usually the ones where doesn't have the money but you know it's an awesome deal - see the marketplace at the moment; there are deals for MF and AF lens grab bags.

I was trying to decide on a DA 21 Ltd that I saw used but in mint condition. I really did not need it, but I could not decide. I let it sit there in on the camera shop web site for about 6 weeks. I finally decided to buy and ordered it. The next day, I was looking at the web site again and noticed the picture of the lens - and it was NOT a 21 but a FA31Ltd. So what did they actually send - the FA31Ltd. I lucked out.....
