i have the 80-200 and 28-70mm kiron lenses. for the buck, they are hard to beat. i suspect the 28-210 will be no different. go here if you want to see 2 recent shots (1 each lens) and decide if image quality is up to your standards:

ShutterPoint Photography - Lead Singer

ShutterPoint Photography - Ghost in the Shell

this site has pics with 28-210mm

Kiron

this guy is selling the vivitar/kiron 105mm new. make an offer if interested.

eBay: Vivitar Series 1 105mm Telephoto Macro Lens Pentax K (item 180130170706 end time Jun-20-07 09:46:11 PDT)

if u decide you don't want the 28-210, i may be interested.

I saw a Kiron 28-120mm 1:3.5-5.6 Macro with K/AR on the barrel in a local shop. However, when I tried to mount it in my K110D it did not fit !! Did I do something wrong? Does the K/AR mean Pentax K mount or not? Can someone help me please. Thanks

Just check some websites and it seems K/AR is Konica mount. Can someone confirm?

I believe K/AR lenses are those lenses with a slightly different mount, and is made by Ricoh (hence the R). I've read about how people have been running into problems using these lenses, and I'd avoid it if I were you.

the Kiron 28-210 has been the 1st lens with this focal length.
Opticlly not as good as the Vivitar then (which has been the best superzoom in those days).
Build quality is really good with all Kiron lenses.

Optically the 28-70, 105 macro, 4/70-210 are better.
All infos from old lens tests in the '80s.....
