K f1.2 50mm for about $25AU.

Yes, I realise that's a decimal point.

For the Yanks, it purchased at the time one Aussie dollar bought 0.6 of a greenback (roughly.)

A set of Paragon "A" contact extension tubes on Ebay for £20 UKP with quote : Lens of some sort attached.

It was enough of a bargain for just the tubes but I was even happier when they arrived and sitting on the end was a mint F* 50mm f1.7.

Here are a couple that need no introduction. I purchased both for a bit less than $200, out the door, from a local camera shop. As you can see, they're in good shape. The S-M-C Tak has some brassing in a couple of places; but, the like new Viv is worth more than I paid for both. By the way, I'm a new poster, here. I'll properly introduce myself in the correct forum, shortly.

My LBA kit showed up today and I had not realized that one of the film bodies was a Z-1p. I really must pay closer attention. The MX with winder is super clean (as is everything else). http://www.flickr.com/photos/pixelsmithy/4203534547/

Now if we didn't have a blizzard forecast for Wed-Friday (dropping over 12" of snow), i'd be happy as a clam!

Wow! You hit the mother load! An 18, 28 and a 35! That should cool the LBA for a while.

I have got some really good bargains on Craigslist(and some rip-offs). My best so for was from a farmer in Kansas. He said he used to use the camera to take pictures while hunting, but he said it was too big to lug around, as he now has a digital that clips on his belt. I bought his PZ-20 with power zoom, and oh yeah, he threw in a FA* 300mm to go with it. All for $120 shipped. The FA* is missing some paint, and it has a small ding on the outside of lens that can be felt when the when you pull it back to manual focus, but auto focus is smooth as silk, and the glass is perfect. Sweet!

OK. What's your smallest LBA score?

Here's mine, just picked up today. I know it has no practical value and I already have a similar kit (albeit older) at home. But I couldn't resist. The $20 deal also includes a 46mm Canon ND8 and a Canon CPL filters, perfect for my modified Ricoh.

Umm... yes way?

Size comparison - that's the little DA 50-200 in front...

I've since sold the FA* 80-200/2.8 of course... so I could buy the Gitzo and the Wimberley head I needed for a proper support system for the FA* 250-600/5.6.

Preliminary images are definitely most promising...

Regards,
Marc

the DA50-200 looks like a dwarf there. given the cost of the FA* telephoto superzoom, I could only wonder what could had been if I had bought the K500/4.5 which was offered for $400 some months ago and bought a 1.4 Tammy TC as an extender. but then I would need a really good head with it and have to bear the pain of transporting a heavy lens and a heavy duty tripod, although atleast the lens is half the weight of the FA* 250-600.

however, it says that it does suffer a bit of contrast but I believe a good hood and some great filters would solve that problem or simply just do it during pp.
anyway, too heavy for me as of the moment as my neck is hurting from the camera's neckstrap.

Wow! Looks like you have gotten nice lenses and bodies at once!
Very curious how much you paid for this amazing set...

LBA newbie but I am happy with what I got for $10

I am trying to put together my gear on a tight budget.
So when I saw an ad on Craig's list over Christmas for some Pentax equipment for 10 bucks, I couldn't resist.

What I got was a clean K1000 body (seals look great and movement is fluid), a 50 mm, f2 SMC lens (also clean), a Quantaray 70-210 mm Automatic mount that works great on my K200d, a Sunpak auto 266 D flash that also is in working condition, some paperwork, old film and for some reason extra lens caps, and a Tamrac bag to boot

It probably pales in comparison to some of finds already mentioned but given that it was only 20 minutes away in a wintery and rural environment (where the closest real brick and mortar photo store is about 1 1/2 hours away), I consider it a find.

By the look and feel of the gear, somebody loved and cared for it.

BTW, I was told that they were getting rid of the gear because they had just gotten a Nikon D60. IMO, could of done better going with a Pentax dslr.

I got the following at a local camera store for under $1000US. I was able to put the pricy ones on a layaway and pick them up when I had the money. All are in EX + condition.

K18/3.5
K24/2.8
K50/1.4
K55/1.8
K135/2.5

I also found at the same store a new inbox Pentax Spotmeter V (factory batteries still sealed in plastic) and a rare Pentax Copy Stand IIIP. (the portable one in a wooden case) These two cost extra and were purchased later on.

Phil.

My best score was actually a CBA score. A Rolleiflex F, type 5,f2.8 Xenotar Whiteface with every filter ever made for it, the closeup lenses, all in pristine cases and perfect condition-- $400. Thanks to a misspelled name and a crappy picture.

My best LBA scores are the ones I am not looking for but sometimes have to work at to make them true scores.. Some are better scores now than when I bought them.

K30 f2.8 now free
K135 $100 (did I pay too much?)
A50 f1:1.2 $250
FA77 Ltd $450 after bing rebates
FA31 Ltd $575
