What was your biggest LBA score?

Curious to hear stories of your biggest LBA score.

You guys are a tremendously bad influence on me. A few months ago, I got a screwmount Spotmatic kit (two bodies + a Chinon CE-4 & winder, plus a 5 Super Takumars and a 1957 Takumar 100mm f3.5 preset).

I thought that was a large score until yesterday. Yesterday a purchase shipped from Canada that includes two film bodies and 12 lenses (all K-mount) including:

Manual focus:
SMC 50mm f1.2 (yep, 1:1.2)
SMC 85mm f1.8
SMC 24mm f2.8
SMC 18mm f3.5
Pentax-M 40mm f2.8
Pentax-M 50mm f1.7

Autofocus:
Pentax-F 50mm f1.7
Pentax-F 17mm-28mm fisheye
Pentax-F 100-300mm f4.5-5.6
Pentax-FA 28mm f2.8
Pentax-FA 28-105mm (f4-5.6)
Pentax-FA 35mm f2.0

I don't think I'll ever personally top this one, but I'm sure some of you have some good stories.

That is an insane LBA score. I have two that I think are very good in terms of glass and price:

Sigma EX DG 28mm f/1.8 for $159.00
Pentax SMC 85mm f/1.8 for $230.00

I was very happy with these finds.

I won an A*600/5.6 by just over $1.00.
Does that count?

Here's my best score.

It was a local Craigslist ad. I can't remember verbatim, but the ad was not very clear as what was included. I called and asked the nice lady to read the markings on the lenses to me. When she read a-asterik-eighty-five-one-colon-one-period-four...., I told her to stop and that the equipment had been sold to me. It took me 45 minutes to her house.

The price: $400 cash.

The heavy camera bag contained, all in pristine condition:

- LX body
- Winder LX
- FA-1 Finder
- FB-1/FC-1 Finder
- AF280T flash with wide-angle and tele adapters
- Pentax-A* 300mm 1:4
- Pentax-A* 85mm 1:1.4
- Pentax-M 200mm 1:4
- Pentax-M 135mm 1:3.5
- Pentax-M 100mm 1:4 Macro
- Pentax-M 24mm 1:2.8
- Pentax SP-10 body.
- Pentax F 35-70mm 1:3.5-4.5
- Pentax-F 1.7X AF Adapter

On one day at my local thrift shop they had a Super-multi-coated Tak 28/3.5 for $6, a Super Multi-Coated Tak 135/2.5 for $12, and a Tokina 90mm f/2.5 macro PKA for $10. "These just came in!" the guy said. "I'll take them all" said I.

Yup. Absolutely. That night when I was ordered to sleep in the dog house by the lady of the house

I thought I was doing pretty good with an FA 20MM F2.8 for $400, but after reading the other posts I'll think again.

NaCl(still the FA 20/2.8 for that price is pretty good - just not in the class of these other scores)H2O

Well, he did ask what was the biggest LBA score -

Takumar 500/4.5.

Grams? We don't need no stinkin' grams!!

It weighs eight pounds.

It is therefore my BIGGEST LBA ever.

But not as big as yours.

Here's my biggest: Prakticar 5.6/500 MC Pentacon, design for MF cameras (Exakta 66, Pentacon 6, Kiev 6, ...).

It's very heavy. I can't remember the exact weight, but must be 10 - 12 lb. I sold it after a few months of ownership, too heavy for me.

I paid $100 for it from the daughter of the original owner. I sold it for $300 on FleaBay.

Both Cheeky and the Bear should be banned.

What they have done is just plain WRONG! WRONG, I say!

The very fact that they made these deals diminishes me!

Just kidding!

My personal best LBA deals have been on the single lens level:

This last Spring:
Pentax FA 77/1.8 Limited: $525 new with warranty
This last Winter:
Vivitar 135/2.8 (Komine): $30 in pristine condition
This last Summer:
KMZ Helios 44M 58/2: $15 excellent condition under the grime, though with stiff focus ring
Now, you all can hate me for the 77 Limited deal. I was in the right place at the right time (Prodigital 2000...make an offer). Some may argue that the Helios was not such a great deal, but it was a coup for me. This lens, with the exception of convenience and resistance to flair is very much equal to my 77 Limited. It truly pains me to say it, but it is true.

Wow, those deals are amazing! Cheekygeek, was that score off eBay?

This summer off eBay I got a "buy it now" for $150 which included a Yashica TL Electro with a Yashinon-DX 50mm 1.4, a Yashinon-DX zoom (a monster), and a Yashinon 60mm Macro with "Tomioka" on it.

The 60mm Macro is one of my favorites. The manual focus seems to "snap" in place and the image quality and sharpness I find terrific.
