PK-EOS adapter

I've seen it on our photomarket today (in China). Do you think it'll keep the infinity for pentax lenses while being used on canon bodies?

I don't think others will know cos there are many generic ones on the market. The best quality I am aware of is by Rayqual Made in Japan. It is also being sold by Kindai. It is designed for APS-C however.

as far as i know EoS has very close working gap with canon - so it makes almost impossible to make correct adapter for FF with PK lenses - ONLY for crop. that's why I'm asking - if it's theoretically possible.

I'm no Canon expert, but I believe one must be more specific than saying "EOS".

Sadly it also appears that it isn’t possible to make adapter rings that let you mount Pentax K (bayonet mount) lenses on EOS cameras with EF lens mounts. The Pentax K diaphragm coupling lever physically interferes with such a possibility. So you’d have to modify the lens (or the camera) to make such a conversion possible.

Note that this does not apply to cameras compatible with the EF-S mount. The design of the EF-S mount, with its smaller mirror box thanks to the 1.6x crop factor, coincidentally permits the use of such lens adapters.
Possible and practical are not necessarily the same, however. And regarding a specific ebay seller... the way they seem to keep disappearing and reappearing would make me leery. YMMV

And shouldn't you be asking this in a Canon/EOS forum???

Like wlachan said, you can only adapt K-mount lens on canon APS bodies. The aperture lever will hit the mirror on a canon FF body.

most PK-EOS adapters available today permit infinity focus. if the description states the adapter can "infinity focus" it probably does.

there are two types. one mounts the lens on the body in normal position with focus scale on top. the other mounts the lens with focus scale on the side, which moves the rear-protruding part of the lens to the side to prevent interference with the mirror; since some PK lenses protrude to the rear more than others the side mount can permit use of those more protruding that are impossible to mount using the first type of adapter.

PK-EOS adapters are very thin, only 1.5mm, so use of quality material such as brass or a hard alluminum alloy is a plus.

Are you saying there is an PK-EOS adapters out there that allow using K mount lenses on a 5D body without mirror interference, and allow focusing to infinity at the same time??

A prooflink would be most welcome!

Looking forward to your reply.
