[langtitle=it]DA & D-XENON[/langtitle]

Hi to everyone,

please, what's the difference between DA and D-XENON 50-200?
I have none of two, I read somewhere may it's better the last one in terms of sharpness and 3d feeling.

I've a doubt because I think they share the same optic project, the main difference is the barrel.

Someone knows?

Thanks.

The D-Xenon 50-200 is made in a Pentax factory and is designed by Pentax to be a DA 50-200 clone, the only difference is the grip and the blue ring.

Not true at all.
I had the Schneider 18-55mm kit lens and the lens coating was identical to the Pentax kit lens. Recently my friends and I compared 2 copies of the Schneider 12-24mm side by side with the DA 12-24mm and the lens coatings were the same.

What about the D-Xenon 100mm F/2.8 ?
Is it the same than Pentax SMC D FA 100mm F/2.8?

I am thinking to buy the Xenon instead of the Pentax, but will it deliver the same IQ?

Thanks

These lenses marketed by Samsung are exact copies of Pentax ones. No difference at all, except minor body alterations and different text. Any question you have for a Pentax lens will have the same answer as one for a Xenon lens. It was just a cooperative marketing venture by Pentax and Samsung.

There is a slight difference in the GX series of cameras, though, versus their Pentax counterparts.

Well, I just order my D-Xenon 100mm F/2.8 Macro, $385 including S&H, from Amazon store, if it is an exact copy of the Pentax version I would be saving a couple of hundreds. The ETA is Dec/28th, so I will let you know how doest it feel and performs.

Regards and Marry Xmas to all the Pentax fans!

My D-Xenon 100 mm F/2.8 macro seems less sharp than DA 100 mm F/2.8 as some Pentaxian in this forum said. I am anxious to hear your test shot on D-Xenon 100 mm Macro.

The Xenon lens hoods don't have the removable filter window slide in section.

Really? I have D-Xenon 18-55mm and its hood does have a removable window where you can adjust polarizer without removing the hood.

On the other hand, I have D-Xenon 12-24mm and the hood doesn't have such thing. I've never seen a Pentax DA 12-24mm before, does its hood have the window?

Neither does the Pentax DA 12-24mm, well my lens anyway.
