K7 focus adjust

This is a great feature. I just got my new K7 with the 18-55 WR kit lens + Pentax 55-300 + Sigma 18-50 EX DC Macro. A nice Christmas present to myself. So, I did a front/back focus test with each lens. The results:

18-55 kit lens was accurate within the DOF wide open but focus point was skewed to the front. This was improved but not completely corrected with the K7's AF adjust feature.

Pentax 55-300 similar to above but was able to completely correct with AF adjust.

Sigma 18-50 was dead b*lls on.

I can tell aready that I'm going to love working with this camera.

Note the focus pont is *supposed* to be toward the front of the focus zone. I'd say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Marc,

I have to play with my new toys! I'll experiment with these adjusted settings for a while and if I'm not happy I'll just set everything back to zero. It's so easy to do, so why not?

My concern would be that the amount by which you moved the focus might be enough to throw *off* at other focus distances.
