Random Thought

As far as I can tell, the last lenses with "PENTAX" written in large letters on the lens hood were the FA series of lenses. I was wondering what made Pentax move away that style. I really like, to the point that FA lenses are more desirable to me than the DA* lineup. Anyone have any idea what spurred the move.

Maybe, branding was becoming too cluttered, having it on the camera, lens, lens hood, flash. strap..etc.

Sometimes simple is more beautiful.

I see the hood on my DA* 16-50 from where I am sitting, and it is clearly marked PENTAX in letters that are about 1/4" (6 mm) high, silver white on black. It's closer to 3/8" on my DA* 50-135. The letters are a bit smaller on the DA 12-24 than on the 16-50.
