Tamron Six Year Warranty

I recently purchased the SP 90mm 2.8 from Tamron and was wondering about the six year warranty. Is the lens automatically covered by the warranty from my purchase or do I need to register the lens with Tamron to be covered? Thanks.

I just sent my 28-75F2.8 for service, 2 years old, all they wanted in canada was a copy of the bill of sale.

My bnill of sale had the lens serial number on it as well as sale date

I just purchased a Tamron lens brand-new with warranty that had a fixable manufacturing fault. I called them up and they said to send in the lens and the registration info at the same time, and it would all be covered. I'm pretty sure the warranty is implied with purchase. I don't think you'll have any problems getting warranty service as long as you provide original proof of purchase, even if you haven't yet registered the item.

You just need the bill of sale--I think they understand few people take the time to register their lenses.

That's good to hear. The warranty sticker on the box said to go online to register the warranty, but I didn't want to take their survey and get junk e-mail, etc...

I should have made this clear too: Never send the original receipt--only a copy of it. Best.
