Tamron 18-250mm price question

It's a Tamron AF 18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro

Is 300 a decent price for a used one or should I try to go for 275?

For the 18-250, $300 is just within the realm of reasonable. Sure, they are sometimes listed for $250-275, but not terribly often. If you really want the lens, I would say grab it at that price. You won't be disappointed.

The Pentax 18-250mm (and the Tamron 18-250mm) are no longer produced. You can only get them 2nd hand and the prices will only increase with time. Indeed the only new 18-250mm lens that you can buy with Pentax mount is the Sigma 18-250mm OS HSM that is much, much dearer.
If you want a Tamron 18-250 mm or Pentax 18-250mm, go for it before the prices increase...

Note that there was some recent interesting threads on the 18-250mm lens:

I would encourage you to look at them.

Lucky you if you can get one for $300, I am struggling to find one for less than AU$700 here in Sydney...

It's a very good lens for what it is. Let me put it this way: I'm not selling mine but if I were, I'd want more than that.

I have both and, while I haven't bothered to do a comparison, I suspect Wally is right.
