I've been wanting one for ages now ... but the price is prohibitive in Australia ($2,500 +)
I'll keep you in mind if I decide to go that way, at 2,500 I undersand why your holding out.
Originally posted by pcarfan Oren, I've thought through this a few times as well. Not purchasing the 300/2.8, but selling the Sigma for the Pentax. I started a thread like this a few months back. I also believe in this Pentax color thingamajig, so a bigger incentive. At the end, the Sigma 100-300 is so good, I couldn't pull the trigger. The size can be an issue, but I need that 300mm end at F4. I sometimes think of changing things when I don't have any toher purchases in the pipeline....now, I am thinking of getting the DA15/4 and the sigma 30/1.4, so this switch is out of my mind, but I know what you are going through, and I wish I have an answer....
I just don't seem to use the 70-200 that much so to simplify things and lighten the load I think this would be good only because I plan to cover the 300mm later.
But my main concern right now is trying to save for that 300/2.8 so I can get to 600mm.
Originally posted by Mike.P® Since I got my Sigma 100-300mm f4 I don't use the Pentax 60-250mm.
If you werent in the USA I would be tempted to do you some sort of trade for your 2 lenses with the 60-250mm.
How would you compare the 2 as far as sharpness and color rendering.
Or maybe you already answered that question?

Thank you

I'm not trying to go shorter.
