Hartmut, these are very good.
I particularly like these two :

Does anyone find the lack of a limiter an issue for focussing when not using macro?

I was considering this one to compliment my FA50mm F1.4 and (soon hopefully) FA77mm ltd for portraiture including fashion stuff and dont want to discount being able to shoot moving targets well.

Seems about the only negative to me...

You don't really need a limiter when you got Quickshift.

excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is quickshift then?

reason i asked the previous question is ive heard the criticisms about focussing issues if there's no focus limiter for out of the macro zone.

sorry to bump

am just trying to work out whether to go for this new one, or whether an older model with the focus limiter will be good for trying to take photos as a small telephoto of moving targets, ie models on catwalks, or rehearsed dance movement (so not high speed running around)

cheers for the help - a second hand older one might set me back A$300 or so, whereas the new one closer to A$800 - but the new one is singing to me (even if my wallet is saying no rather strongly!)

Quickshift allows one to manual focus after the autofocus has locked without having to change to manual focus mode. It is a great feature.

Nice looking lens and great output as well; the metal finish and weather sealing certainly help add to value of the lens. Even though I have the FA 100mm, I'd almost be tempted to trade up at some point (especially at nearly half the weight of the FA 100m@600g)!

As far as ProD2K, I purchased 3 items from them and have received all my stuff in bubble wrap and a box; maybe because I'm up here in Canada?

I've bought from Prodigital and had no problems. They wrapped my lens in bubble wrap and just put it in a padded envelope and not a box, but it came in good shape. Other than that it is a great place to shop.

P.S: Good find by the way, as that is an awesome price for that lens.....

@frank What's the minimum and maximum length of the lens when focusing?

ProDigital 2000 has been selling this lens for $600 USD lately. I also have bought several items from them, and the shipping has been fast with the items boxed and well-packed. The fit and finish on this lens is very nice indeed, reminds me of the 21 LTD that I used to have.

OK, I've had this lens sitting unopened for about 4 weeks now! I've been too busy to even think about it...
However, I managed to grab a quick 30 minutes with it over the weekend and I think I'm going to like it....a lot....apologies for the relatively uninspiring subjects but I just quickly grabbed the nearest "small" items to hand

Wow, some spectacular images. I have to say, this thread just made me order this lens.

I was shopping a used 50-135, but after the seller had an offer come in $100 more than mine, I walked and gladly so. I know, apples to oranges but I have been wanting a nice macro for the past 10 months.

Come on UPS, hurry up! Thanks for the review
